The 2007 - 2008 YESSS Contests evolve along four key dates for registered contestants:
Beginning September 1, 2007, complete and submit registration form.
By December 31, 2007, complete the following four preparatory tasks:
1) From your study of ecosystems, articulate an insight that helps address the questions: "what's sustainable and what isn't?", "what makes ecosystem sense in terms of redesigning human activity systems along more sustainable pathways?"
2) Identify and describe an eco-crisis that you aim to help address with an emphasis on its local and/or global relevance to you and your research passion.
3) Present a general outline of your implementation plan (with an emphasis on whole systems design) to help address (and hopefully manage) the eco-crisis you've identified.
4) Describe arrangements you've begun making to present key components of your work to your academic advisor, to your classmates as well as to students younger than yourself and their teachers. Have fun practicing eco-pedagogy.
By May 31, 2008, present your contest entry consisting of the following four parts:
1) your understanding of ecosystems and best resources that helped you gain it
2) your insight(s) relevant to improving eco-crises management
3) your report on implementation efforts to secure eco-sensible improvement(s)
4) your design of a learning resource for younger students and their teachers
