Welcome Mat
Alpha=Team Welcome Mat
Summer Solstice '09
Dear Zhaoyan, Amaury and Xarissa,
I'm most pleased to welcome you here as I'm requesting your professional and personal help.
Your critical review and feedback are good intelligence resources for enriching the YESSS site's current redesign efforts. I'm learning as I proceed here, so your suggestions for improving even my little baby steps are most welcomed.
Perhaps more importantly, I'm aspiring to host good conversations with each of you as individuals and also collectively as part of a micro=community who share an appreciation for my "virtual Lemonade". One of the reasons I'm welcoming each of you is because you don't seem to think I'm entirely crazy and therefore I trust you may just help give me some great suggestions.
So, let's have some more fun. Let's have some sincere fun helping design much more sustainable human activity systems as gifts for future generations by studying together the ecosystems sciences.
Here's a topic for conversation we may care to explore together = let's support one another's visions that each one of us holds dear with respect for sustainable futures. Certainly not one of us knows all the best means to resolve the challenges we face, and yet we might just team up to share our views and voices with one another in ways that can actually help our whole species evolve. Have you got anything better to do?
I'm also hoping that you might just welcome yourselves to some gifts that (hopefully) will emerge in the course of your efforts to help me. At the risk of appearing boastful, I want you to know that I'm confident the work I've begun via Young Ecosystems=Scholars Support Services, YESSS, already contains a few gems and other goodies that I feel delighted to offer to each and all of you Xarissa, Zhaoyan and Amaury.
I'm not kidding! I'll feel YESSS is succeeding wonderfully if/when any one or all of you find something useful (perhaps even quite valuable) from the work I'm endeavoring to deliver. So please, help yourselves if any of my efforts can further the work, learning and fun you're most earnestly passionate about pursuing.
Anyhow, I'm now in the midst of exploring how best to change the format and change the substance of my earlier attempt at web site design; so, I'd totally appreciate your input on how to improve my earlier and current efforts.
As you can probably tell from a quick perusal of the various contests I'm considering, the prime theme throughout YESSS activities is to collaborate on efforts to combine the following two fields of human endeavor:
1) efforts to help celebrate the study of ecosystems
in "combination" with
2) efforts to help design gifts for future generations
Such efforts in "combination" are crucial for me because innovations in the art and practice of combining these two fields may be as important as these two fields themselves. As rich as these two fields are in providing both great content and great context, I believe our efforts to combine them will increase their value even further.
So, if my request for your help makes and sense and feels good for you and if/when you have the time and the inclination, I'd be delighted to learn your impressions, gain your critical feedback and hopefully further collaborate with you on my approach to and delivery of relevant, coherent and fun contests for Students.
If you'd care to jump in and explore my earlier version of this YESSS site, I believe you'll get a decent sense of where I'm coming from and where my interests/passions are going. Your suggestions on any valuable bits of content from the old version that ought to be migrated over to the new version, would be quite helpful. And, your advice on how, via the new version, best to present both valuable content and fun contest activities would be even more than quite helpful.
For your convenience, you may find the following links helpful as you explore through my old site (since its flawed design too often left visitors feeling 'confused' or 'scattered'). These links will take you to some older information content that I believe is worth transferring or migrating over to the new site:
